So, I'm planning on ordering a MBP 15" shortly. I'll be getting the high res. glossy screen (I like glossy...) and 8GB of RAM with the 2.0 Ghz Quad processor.

If there is a refresh of the MBP in 2012 and I find it worthy enough to purchase, I might sell the MBP I am about to buy.

My question is: Which would be easier to resell: A MBP with 128 GB SSD or a MBP with 500 GB (7200 rpm) HDD?

Thanks! :)

most people who buy used macs are looking for good prices, so if you have an ssd it will bring the price higher so a mac without ssd would be easier to sell.

Probably the 500GB imo. Most people buying used are more concerned with a good value, and less about peak performance. You will have a lot of people scoff at the 128GB space.

Also, get your RAM after market through newegg. You'll save at least $100.

I don't know, but at this point the potential of SSD to go down in price is much higher than regular HD.

Whatever SSD you can get right now for say $300, you can probably get the same thing for $200 next year.

500GB HD what's the worse that could happen to it, $60 to $0?
