Easier way to login on my network to another Mac?

Whenever I try to connect to my iMac from my MacBook Pro on my network I choose Go > Network and it opens up the option to choose my iMac, though when I need to log in it populates the username that I need to log in with with the name of my Macbook Pro instead of my iMac, so I have to manually delete the Macbook Pro name and type the name of my iMac. Is there another easier way of doing this?
