Hey people,

Pretty new to Mac, sitting with the top 15" uMBP, I have just ordered the "free Snow Leopard upgrade" and looking forward to receive it in the next couple of weeks.

So of course I want all my pictures, etc. to be saved as well. How is the easiest way to save all information, etc?

Is it to make a "complete" backup on an external harddrive, or what should I look at? Or is there somewhere I can choose to "save program information and files" but not OSX it-self?

Sorry for this probably stupid question, but I just want to be sure that all my documents, photos and music are saved after I reinstall :)

Use time machine. Backup one last time before you install SL, that is if you do a fresh install. If you just upgrade everything remains in tact. At least it did for me on 2 machines.
