Easiest way to DIY-Photostream?

Is it just naming one Shared Album to "Photostream"?

I realized that I have used Shared Albums for years without using iCloud Photos.
Maybe I can keep using them?
Maybe not?

The first thing you linked is for a Shared iCloud Photo Library. This is an entire photo library shared between multiple iCloud accounts, and uses iCloud storage. It’s iCloud Photos, but the entire library is shared.

A Shared Album is different, because it’s just the content of those photos, and can be shared with people without using iCloud Photos.

You may be able to use a Shared Album as a psuedo-Photo Stream, but you’ll still have to:

- Manually add the photos into the shared album
- You still have to share the album itself to someone

For years I've had Shared Album called "tmp", which I used when Photo Stream had a glitch. Which was quite often.
I'm the only entity that the album is shared with.
Works just fine.
