what is the easiest way to jailbreak an iphone 4, running 4.3.1, bb 04.10.01, using my macbook pro in my sig??

now im running on bell (in canada) and dont really care about using my phone on another carrier (just yet), and i simply want a couple other options for apps.

now i did have a jailbroken ipod touch (original one) so i have done it before but seeing as my phone goes everywhere with me and i use it for EVERYTHING im a little more concerned with it being reliable and you know not getting all messed up..

thanks guys

I've used both and both are excellent and very stable. But if he's looking for the easiest to use then that would be Redsn0w.

ok so when i open redsnow it asks me to select the corresponding IPSW for current firmware, does that mean i need to find where the file is saved on my mac??

Yes, that mean connect your iphone and download&install 4.3.1.

There is an option in itunes to just d/l the ipsw. Installation is never required.

The OP could just google for a link to apple's servers and pick a place to d/l the ipsw.
If the iOS has already been DL'd, then it's somewhere in your itunes folder.
Personally, I go for the former route, because I don't use itunes to d/l the ipsw.

creating a folder on your desktop and storing all your jailbreak files in that folder helps when locating them,Its what i do at least

small question, I'm still running OS4.0.1 JB w/ Jailbreakme. I want to upgrade the OS and JB using Redsnow.

Would I lose all my JB apps after the process? Is there a way I can just upgrade the OS to 4.3.1 and keep jailbreame instead?

It seems that running redsnow and upgrading the firm that way is easier but I'm not sure. I admit I've been away from here for a bit and need some catching up to do. :(

JB me only works on earlier iOS versions.
I think redsnow installs a firmware and erases your phone; I only use pwnage, so I'm not sure.
If they're apps you purchased, you just make sure to sign in with the same name and password and re-d/l the programs again.

Redsn0w does not erase the phone.
