So I'm strongly considering buying a ssd in the next few days as prices have been coming down to a more reasonable rate.
I usually just do a clean install when I get a new drive, but it's a pain especially with exams coming up to tweak everything back to the way I'm using it now.
Right now I'm just using the stock 250gb drive, and with the move to a 120gb ssd, obviously the partition sizes will be different. Would it be fine to just use carbon copy cloner to make a disk image and restore it through disk utility when I boot up the os x install disk, even though I'm going to resize my partition from 190gb->70gb? There's only 40gb actual used space when I checked, so I was wondering if the cloned image would load fine on the new partition scheme.
Thanks all!
