Having updated to 10.7.3 numerous times using both Software Update & Client Combo I'd given up on finding a fix for the Wi-Fi issue until Apple finally gets its arse in gear and releases another update, which no doubt will break something else!

Yesterday whilst streaming video to my TV the stream [rather obviously] dropped out every time my iMac went into sleep mode, becoming increasingly irritating each time. I suddenly remembered that I'd had the same problem a few years ago with my old 20" iMac and after a bit of Google research ended up installing Lighthead Software's Caffeine app which prevents your Mac from automatically going to sleep.

Whilst I had know expectation that Caffeine would fix the Wi-Fi issue I knew that it would keep my iMac awake thus meaning that I didn't have to keep repeating the laborious task of restarting the stream and finding my place in the video again. However, now even when Caffeine is present in the menu bar and not active I have yet to come back to my iMac to find that I've lost Wi-Fi connectivity.

It's not ideal I know but it's quick & easy, not to mention free!
