Easy question: burning downloaded .avi's to DVD

I have 3 seasons of a TV show downloaded (xvid avi's) that I'd like to be able to watch from a set-top DVD player. (I realize the quality will be crap, but that's not really a concern.) I've had a quick look through iDVD, but all the fancy intros, menus, etc seem like overkill. DVD-R's are cheap enough that I don't mind doing 1 episode/disc, although more would obviously be better.

What's the fastest/most efficient/safest (in terms of maximizing compatibility with the playback boxes) way to go about this?

iDVD has a OneStep DVD from Movie option in the file menu. Burns a disc that plays as soon as it loads in your drive / player. No menu.
