Mine doesn't, except when syncing. But maybe mine is abnormal Is it saying anything? Does it auto-lock? Does manually locking it turn the screen off?

what setting do you have for autolock?

after a few mins, mine will go black just like it would if it were not connected to anything.

I just push the lock buttom before placing on the charger and when I do I see the Large Green Battery telling me how much it is already charged. Shortly there after it goes dark. If Menu is up it does not change (however, may go dark after a while, not sure).

Sometimes the display remains on and so I press the sleep button.
But it just happened a couple of times. Otherwise it shows the green battery icon.

I don't think it's normal. Mine acts the same way it does when it's not docked. Stays lit for about 2 minutes then goes into sleep mode. I think that's normal.
