I want to make a simple slideshow/video to upload to youtube.

Basically, I have a 3:00 minute long mp3 file. It's just an audio file of someone speaking. Throughout the mp3 file I'd like to place pics at certain parts.

I'd like to have a picture pop up here and then return to black background, and then maybe a different picture to pop up later at a certain time in the audio file.

I only have 8 or 9 pics to add. I drag them into imovie 11 project area then drag my mp3 file in and the mp3 file gets cut short to the amount pics I have.

A side question is: How do I add plain background space in between the pictures?

I'm looking for an intuitive way to do this, (if there is one similar to what I imagine) which would be seeing the audio file in a timeline and adding pics in it or above on a separate track.

I'm even open to any other apps that might do this easily or easier than iMovie.
