My wife and I share a single user account on our Macbook. We have our own tastes in music and keep them separate in our own iTunes Libraries, which due to internal hard drive constraints, we keep in separate folders on an external drive. The only hassel is we have to hold the Option key while clicking on iTunes which lets us choose the library we want to open. The annoying thing is you have to navigate through a bunch of folders to find the right .itl file.

I'd love an option that will let me either click on a shortcut to have it automatically open the appropriate library, or a program that will let me choose from a list up front. I tried iTunes Library Selector, which seemed like it would fit my needs perfectly, but it keeps opening my library even though I chose my wife's.

Doing a google search seems to bring up the same old answers from yesteryear. It's 2013 and we're at iTunes 11! I know I'm not the only one who has this problem. Someone must have found an easy solution by now? Is there a different program that works properly? Am I using iTunes Library Selector wrong (though, it's pretty straight forward and there's no help file), can I just make aliases of the .itl files and keep them in a central location? Any help?
