Easy way to convert AVI Files to DVD?

Hi, I have been using macs for awhile, But haven't managed to find an easy solution to converting AVI files to DVD format.

On Windows i would use WINAVI, to convert the AVI File in to the DVD format and burn in Nero.

What would be the best solution for doing this on the mac.

I did try using Toast to do this but the encoding seems to take rather a long time.

Any advice would be greatly appreiciated.

Install Perian, then just use iDVD. Works for me!
