Why is there no easy way to turn on or off the always on display ? I know if you have previously done it recently it appears from the side dock button as below but otherwise (and usually) its several presses away - why is it not in the control centre as a click on / off button...

I use these… To quickly toggle always ON and always OFF
Thats pretty cool and now I have added them as shortcuts to my phone its easy / peasy - Is there any way to make them or the generic shortcuts appear automatically when I swipe to my widget list by swiping left of my home screen ? I see Siri suggestions there but cant see any way to fix anything in there

From the Widget screen you can add individual shortcut icons. Tap and hold a widget to bring up the edit feature, click the '+' sign, and scroll down to your widgets.

You can also initiate shortcuts by voice command.

Does battery life improve if you turn off always-on?
I’ve found the bigger battery saver is turning off the raise to wake thing; by manually going from AOD to the high power mode you save a fair bit of battery life - and since you can just tap a complication now and it’ll work even if it is in AOD mode - there is little downside with this approach

Ah interesting. Thanks!
Will have to try it out when I get a series 7. Currently on a series 4 so no AOD
