My new iPad 2017 9.7 (WiFi only) suddenly started losing something like 5% of its battery overnight. The eBay app was the only app I could think to have downloaded recently. So I deleted the app and the battery drain seems to have stopped.
Couple of point: I turn background app refresh and most location services off. I always fully quit the eBay app to keep my app switcher organized. There’s no reason for it to be doing anything, but deleting the app seems to have eliminated the standby drain.
I know iPads are capable of insane standby times because my old iPad 3 would go for several days on standby without losing a single %.
Sound like a reasonable diagnosis? Anyone else caught other apps subtly killing their battery even when totally closed?
