Hey. I've bought AppleCare a few times on eBay with no issue. Looking today to extend my new computer and the listing details show a different process than im used to:

As described by the auction:

1. Send us your serial number we will check that this is compatible with your Mac before you purchase.

2. We will then confirm the serial number back to you and we will need a response from you to proceed.

3. We will send you a confirmation message once the extended warranty has been applied to your Mac.



Do you think this will work? Is the seller actually trying to register the Mac to his account using the serial then applying Applecare? How would that affect me?

Don't risk it just to save a few dollars get apple care through apple for peace of mind.
