Hi All,

Can I get some opinions on this eBay item please:
330256470128

The seller tells me (via email) that the unit was purchased from ATT, then the contract terminated and the handset unlocked.

Apparently it works on other networks, but he hasn't actually tried it himself. His friend told him.

I was unaware that ATT offered such a service??

AT&T probably unbricked the iPhone at the store, which is standard practice for activating all new iPhone 3Gs being sold. But that does NOT unlock the phone.

I wouldn't buy it unless the seller can produce actual proof that it's running on say, T-Mobile USA.

In any case, $1,200? Not worth it. You'd do much better doing a direct fulfillment.

It a white iphone, save $800 and go to your local att store and order one through direct fulfillment. I've heard the white ones are shipping in sometimes 2 days. I would doubt his story about it working on other networks.

I'm in the UK so it would mean I need to go to O2, but they don't sell the white one here. We have to go direct to an Apple Store to get a white one. And Apple Store's aren't as popular over here, so I'd need to drive approx 2 hours to get to one.

Oh and I don't want to be on O2. I'm on Orange Uk.

Give it a few days and the prices will come down.
When it came out first the Buy it Now prices where around $1,400.00 with some users.
Now they are down around $700.00, which is still very pricey.

Well, non-contract iPhone 3Gs will sell from AT&T in the future for $599/$699...so it's not that unbelievable.
