In persona non grata
I've bought some stuff on ebay before, but just now have started to try to sell a few things. I got a question from a prospect on an item asking me to sell it to him now, for a price that is not bad. But isn't that a violation of the ebay rules? Might this not be scam?

Im not sure if he's trying to scam you or not, but it is against eBay rules. I would just tell him to bid if he's interested.

Can sometimes be dodgy - and yes, it's against eBay rules, so you wouldn't be as protected. I've had the same situation on several occasions and always refused, although I suppose you could cancel the auction and set up a 'buy it now' only sale just for this guy. Lot of hassle, though...
