Just wondering. If I buy a Mac on eBay, and it's "new in box", does the Apple warranty apply from the date you bought it? Is there any problem if not bought from an Apple retailer?

Second question -- is there any problem getting AppleCare coverage on a "slightly used" Mac bought on eBay?

Its the date they purchased the machine since they are not an AD its not when you buy it. Well if you buying on ebay make sure its not a scam. If it is new in box and 20% or more off retail its probably a scam.

You can ask for the serail number (not sure if they will give it to you) and go to www.apple.com/support and check how many days left on the warranty. You can also ask the seller to do this.
