Has anyone got a screen off ebay and had them install it? I need to replace a screen on a g4 1ghz powerbook dvi 15 inch and was looking for feedback on this process and if anyone had gone through ebay.

Never went through with it, but I perused eBay for a while. Most LCDs are hit or miss there. I think you can find LCDs slightly cheaper than from a shop most of the time. Sometimes you can spot a BIN and get one for a steal.

As far as install, it's really not that bad assuming you're semi-compotent. Main thing is have the tools. The case comes apart fairly easy. Make sure you have some sort of system to keep track of all the screws (and snap a few digital pics as you go). The biggest thing is trying to remember if the long screw went here or there.
