Good afternoon macrumors,

I have the silver iPhone 6+, and the black Apple leather case. Recently I have noticed that something black (I presume it's from the leather) has worked its way into the tiny crack between the metal and the front glass plate on the phone. I took a sewing needle and tried to work the black stuff out, but could not completely get it.

Anyone know if this is caused by my case, or is it dirt, etc.? Very disappointing to have this happen, as I've had the phone for just over two weeks and already having this issue. Just seems like that tiny space is too big?

Thanks!

Without seeing your phone it's really hard to give any meaningful response.

I can say that I have a silver 6+ with a leather case and have not noticed what you are describing.

It's just a little piece of the black leather (like a small hair) that is tightly wedged in there.

Blow it with compressed air or get a needle and take it out. I have the red leather case on and it happens from time to time due to wear. Not the end of the world.

Again, without seeing it, I can only speculate. If I had to guess, it's probably actually a hair. A few people were reporting having that problem with their new iPhones 6 plus.

Happend to me to.
Space Grey iPhone 6 and Light Pink (or whatever it's called) Apple Leather case.
I learned to look away. Lol :D

I use a Spigen Neo Hybrid.

It's a shock resistant very high quality slim case that fits perfectly covering all seams preventing any debris from entering. Tried five other choices, none were as comfortable ergonomically with the textured grippy back like the Spigen.

On sale half off at Amazon.

Do what I do...take the screen off to clean around this tiresome gap that has been an issue with all the iPhone's except the 4, 4S.

Man, once you noticed it, you probably will not be able to unsee it anymore, because you know it's there.

I had a tiny and very thin wool hair stuck in my 6 also between the screen and the chassis... It was so small that those body hair tweezers couldn't catch it... Neither a needle would make any difference... It was so small but even so i was always rolling my eyes towards that freaking wool hair...

Suddenly I remember to use a bit of electrical duct tape... The first one i used didn't worked because it was not strong... Got a really strong one and tried again... With my nail i creased the tape on the chassis and on top of the hair and with a quick pull i was able to remove it.. :)

Try that out, it might work :)
