I just wanted to post a quick PSA that if you buy the 15" Midnight Air and wear a watch with a metal band prepare for the edges to chip on the laptop. For me, I don't really care, but I know that for a lot of people in here it would be a total deal breaker. I always take pristine care of my Apple devices, but I do wear an Apple watch Ultra with a metal band when working. Today I noticed where my watch sometimes rests its chipping the paint off of the edge. I never had this issue, at least that I could see, with the space gray models. I'm assuming it did this with the 13" model as well but I didn't have that one so I didn't know if people were aware of this.

Just wanted to let people know, it can and will chip the paint with a metal watch band on so be careful.

I wear the leather loop these days because I started developing a mild allergy to latex/elastic/spandex type materials late in life for some reason, but yes, this has always been a risk if you're wearing the stock sport loop especially. That little metal nubbin that pokes through can really do some damage to a laptop if you're not careful.

PSA before people start trashing Apple specifically for this though: ANY watch can scratch up ANY laptop. This isn't unique to Apple.

No and I wasn't meaning to trash Apple at all. Although I will say in all the years I've owned Space Gray and Silver this has never happened. Or maybe it was happening but the color made it more difficult to see. Its definitely noticeable with the Midnight color.

Understood--I wasn't directing that comment at you--that was more for the future Apple trashers. ;)

This issue is why I always stick with space gray. Midnight is beautiful, but I don’t want to have to baby my computers too much.

I have a stainless steel band and a silver and space grey MBP that I’ve done this exact thing to. Can definitely say it happens but yeah, WAY less noticeable. The space grey edges the silver on noticeability, but it’s not too bad.
