I have an interesting problem that doesn't seem to have a ready solution. In one of our iMacs that is still running Lion, we have recently lost the ability to edit contacts in the Contacts application.

The button has simply disappeared, with no noticeable explanation. I can still add new contacts, but once the new contact is saved, you can no longer edit at all.

I tried disabling icloud Contacts, rebooting, and then repopluating from i cloud, with no success.

The odd thing is that several other computers (one additional iMac, one MacBook Pro) an iPhone and iPad all share the same contacts list through iCloud and none of them are having the problem.

I have searched apple's site, and there have been several other posters who have identified a similar issue, but no solutions have been forthcoming.

Any suggestions?
