I can mount my MacBook Pro through AirPort onto my iMac. I can go into the Applications Folder and open System Preferences, but it opens System Preferences on the iMac rather than the MBP.

I need to see if File Sharing and Remote Management are on, on the MBP. The Logic Board has failed in the MBP but I can still mount it and see the AFP Address in Apple Remote Desktop.

Thanks.

If your Macbook Pro shows up in the finder sidebar then File Sharing is on, else you wouldn't be able to access the files via your iMac.

If you're seeing it in Apple Remote Desktop then Remote Management is turned on.

The thing is that I can't connect to the MBP in ARD. I can see it but not connect to it. I'm running ARD 3.3 on both computers yet this happens:
