Edit GoPro video on 2012 Mac Mini

I am thinking about buying a GoPro Hero 4 Silver. I have a 2012 quad core mac mini with 2.3 ghz I7 with 16 gb of ram. Will I be able to edit the GoPro footage with this mac mini using iMovie? I have the Thunderbolt display, if that matters. I think I will primarily shoot in 1080 p. I do not have any devices that will work with 4K, and that is the reason I was not considering the Hero 4 Black. I appreciate your input.

What about 5 years from now? Unless you are filming throwaway footage that you won't care to watch in the future.

And yes your mac mini will be able to edit video just fine.
