Edit iPhone backup file after downgrade

I updated my iPhone 4 to 4.2 but now I want to go back to 4.1. After I downgraded, I went to restore from backup but iTunes says that it can't be restored because the software on my phone is too old.

Is there anyway to edit the 4.2 backup to be able to restore it onto 4.1?
