Hello,

as my title states, I have an iPhone that works perfectly with wifi.

With EDGE/GPRS, it can browse the web, App store apps work over EDGE/GPRS.

But my mail app becomes useless, I cannot send, receive, nothing, unless I connect to wifi.

can someone help me out with this?

thank you

EDIT: ok I just tried to use GMAIL and Yahoo with mail App over EDGE, they work, so it's MobileMe.

before Apple decided to "improve" Dot Mac it worked fine with EDGE, now it doesn't, what could be the problem

Do you get an error message or just no mail?

How much mail is set to download into your inbox? Set it for the lowest amount (25?)? Just trying to determine if pulling down that degree of data is bottlenecking it somehow.

no error message when trying to retrieve email, just keeps trying, when sending, I get the message that it cannot connect to SMTP.

I have it retrieve 25 messages only, which as always worked fine until 2 weeks ago.

Thanks

Have you tried deleting the account on the iPhone and re-adding it? Making sure to set it to NOT sync with iTunes.
