Edit mpeg4. movie on imovie

Imovie does not import my mp4 movie file. Is imovie capable of working with mp4 files?

iMovie will work with certain types of mp4 files. mp4 like a lot of video formats is just a package, it does not necessary reflect the video codec the actual file uses. For best results use MPEG Streamclip or FFMPEGX to convert to .dv and import the converted file in.
