Edit .vob files in iMovie?

I'm a little confused. iMovie says it will import dv files. Aren't .vob files dv? Also, can I use iDVD in conjunction with iMovie? I'd like to play around with the nice looking themes.

No, VOB files are MPEG2 DVD files, not DV. You can use MPEGStreamclip to convert them to DV first ...
