Editing 2k gopro

Sorry for the register & question but I'm after a quick answer if poss ?

Looking at possibly getting a Mac book air as my Ipad will do 1080 go pro but not the 2k
I not looking to create massive films but using 2k give me better scope for stills would the below specs cope with 2k at all ? I need to keep machine size down as I travel with a lot of kit anyway


Core i7 1.8GHz Mid 2011 4GB RAM 256GB SSD

I got 8 gig memory on a amd A6 2.10 64 bit windows system that struggles will the air be as bad or worse ?

The i5 in an Air will be much faster than an A6 but for video editing you might run into memory problems. Although that might be mitigated by the Air's SSD, assuming you have a hard drive in the A6.
