Editing in iMovie on 7 plus

My iMac is at my mothers in Pa. Im using my 7 plus to make Youtube videos. I need to edit. You know how you say something by mistake so you bring up text to correct yourself, so you dont have to record all the way over? It only lets me add text that doesnt go away. Is there anything I can do to add fading in and out text in iMovie on my 7 plus?
