To get movies onto my Apple TV I usually rip my DVDs and encode them with Handbrake, transfer them to my Apple TV then delete them from my iMac. I now have a problem with this, when I go to edit the metadata through iTunes it says that it cannot locate the file, how do I get it to locate the file on the Apple TV? And how do I delete a movie on the Apple TV? I get the trash can with files I bought through the Apple TV but no others, I have to go through iTunes to delete them, is there any other way?

I do the same method, except I keep the ripped movie on an external drive in case I need access to it again. If you change any info on the movie, it will need to re sync with the ATV. You can not just change the info on it while it is on the ATV. You will also need to delete it from iTunes in order to get it to come off the ATV. Hope this helps.
