editing .m2ts files... please help

Hi

So, I recently switched to a rMBP from a windows laptop, and I'd appreciate some help regarding video editing please.

I used "Sony Playmemories" that came with my HD Sony hanycam, to edit the video files. I didn't really do any heavy editing, usually just trimmed the clips.

I've tried to use iMovie, but I don't find it very user friendly. Trimming the files is a little hard to do.

Can you please recommend something else a bit simpler I can use to edit my videos?

Would Adobe Premiere Elements be a bit easier to use?

What program should I use to import the video files from the sd card to my macbook?

RewrapAVCHD will change the AVCHD container to a Quicktime container and give you a m4v video file which you can easily trim with Quicktime.

Just dig down in the file structure on your SD card to find the m2ts files.

No, there is no loss of quality. The files are not being converted. They are in a "container". This "container" is changed from AVCHD to Quicktime with no quality loss.
