I'd like to be able to take a pdf file and edit it, then save it as a pdf again. Any recommendations? Will Office do this? Pages?

Word and Pages are not PDF editors; Adobe Acrobat Pro is. That said, it would be helpful if you described the content of these files. It is a pain to do more than very simple edits to PDFs if they are primarily text. For scanned documents or PDFs that are primarily graphics, forget about it.

I use a piece of software called guitar pro. It utilizes files that show music chords and tabs. When I print, I have the option to save the file as a pdf. I'd like to be able to edit the pdf with the tabs, and insert lyrics/text under the notes to really complete the paper.

Does that help?
