I have a dumb question for anyone who knows anything about photoshop.

If I crop a photo at 640x960 it will fit the iphone 4 display size. But if I crop it at 960x1440 (keeping the same aspect ratio) will I get a more clear picture?

what i do is...

if i am starting with a landscape picture, i will scale the height to 960, then crop the width to 640.

if i am starting with a portrait picture, i will scale the width to 640, then crop the height to 960.

you wont gain anything by keeping the picture at a larger size, since the display will scale it down anyway. also, when your wallpaper gallery gets larger, you aren't taking up unnecesary space with larger pictures.
