I don't know if this is the correct place but here goes!
I have a Mac running Maverick's and an iPad & iPhone running Screens 3 by Edovia. When I'm at home on the same Network as my Mac the VNC viewer will connect easily and wake my sleeping Mac no problems. When I'm away from home on 3G the only way I can connect is if the Mac is still awake. Once it's gone to sleep I can't wake it on 3G.
I've contacted their support and they just say that my router can't be compatible and won't send the wake up command.
My set up is as follows. My router is a BT HomeHub2 and the iMac is connected via Powerline Adapter so in essence it's hard wired via Ethernet for faster speeds. I have a CCTV system, Sky Box and Apple TV also connected by Powerline adapters.
I can't understand that the router won't give the wake up command as it does on the same network. I think that somehow the router is blocking the wake up command when it comes from outside but not the actual commands to operate the iMac if they are different.
The only thing I can see on the Router set up pages is Application Sharing where you allow connections coming from outside to certain devices on the network. I can't see however anything that fits problem.
Any help appreciated.
