Education discount and ipod touch, do you get the latest model ???

I just wanted to confirm something about apple's cool education discount program, ending in four days.

Is the 8GB ipod touch that one gets, the one that was just recently released or is it the older model ??

you get the older model

the whole reason behind giving them away is to clear out the old stock for the new models

happens every year. says the new ipods are not eligible

hope that helps clarify things. personally, i think getting a free older ipt is worth it over buying the new model. i mean there really wasnt that much of an improvement imo

i like it for light image manipulating. its akin to ms paint for what i use
