i went to buy iwork 08 yesterday at my local apple store at square one mall in toronto. i was expecting the price to be 71 dollars but the guy at the cash said the discount doesnt work on software...i told him that on the site it is 71 dollars....he mentioned that the one in the site u can't update that one. he said i hvae to pay 79 in box retail in order for to update if there are updates...

its not a big deal ...its 8 bucks...but for some reason i find that reason hard to believe...

There has been no instore software discounts for quite a long time.

As for iWork not being updatable, thats a load of crap.

yeah the no update thing got me thinking thats crap....
i understood the no instore discount....but why would they have to say no updates with the downloadable version...haha

If you are a student, your campus store can be a much better source for software. My campus store has iWork 08 for just $39:cool: Check it out; you might find some stuff you never new existed, but you desperately need.
