After waiting for these highly anticipated new Macbooks they aren't what I need. I was getting a laptop to run Logic and for school, there's no point in getting Logic if I'm unable to run a Apogee Duet, so no firewire means no new Macbook. So it looks like I'll be getting a 2.4ghz black Macbook, but I don't seem to get a discount from what I can see (it's in the refurb store).

I don't believe you get an education discount on refurbished products.

Amazon has a $100 rebate on the blackbook now though...

Are you looking for refurb or new? There is no education discount on refurbs...the most recent black MacBooks are $1099 in either store. If you're looking for a new one, check the Clearance section...$1299 in the regular store, $1199 in the EDU store.

Sometimes individual campus stores will go even lower in order to clear out the old stock on hand, so you might want to check out that option.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll check out the campus store and see what they can do.
