It used to be that when I went to the Education store it displayed lower prices, but lately the prices are exactly the same as the regular Apple site. What's going on? Are they no longer offering discounts? Or do you have to do something different to see them?

Not all products have the discounts, and those that do have somewhat small discounts.

Yeah, what maflynn said. Some of the discounts are either nothing or hardly anything. It's kind of proportional to the product. and iPod shuffle may be nothing. A iPod touch may be $40. It really comes into play with the iPads and notebook/desktops.

The original intent for educational pricing was to get the product into students hands so when they graduate, they'll be inclined to buy that product. I think over the decades of having educational discounts, its transformed into a something where most people try to save a buck or two, and companies have started to shy away.

Look...you have apple executives who make millions a year payable in stock, bonus and cash....the money has to come from somewhere...where better than to get it from students who use it for school?
