educational discount items come in plain box?!

just got my MBP from the eductional discount store. it came in a brown box. i thought the educational discount models were brand new and only refurbs came in a brown box. am i incorrect in this assumption?
 
that sounds like a refurb, not an EDU. every EDU machine i have ever bought was in identical packaging to the regularly priced versions, i just paid less.
 
same as shecky....always had a normal box. are you positive you purchased from the EDU store and not the refurb section?
 
Well mine came in a brown box too, with the normal box inside it. The brown box is just there to protect the normal box. Unless you didn't get the normal box inside, which would be weird.

Rofl. Apple does killer packing for all their products tho, and stuff sent from the apple store usually comes with another outer brown box layer to protect the original packing!

LOL. You post on the internet about it before just opening the box? That's not quite an honest mistake... that's just a bit weird. :)
 
usually whenever i get something in the mail i open it before complaining about it.


usually it's bills. not computers.

thats like ordering a burger from a fast food joint...
"OOH WTF! I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET A BURGER! ALL I GOT WAS THIS PAPER BAG!"
 
I do love MR ... When you are feeling a bit down, go to MR and you are sure to find something to brighten your day :)
