Hey guys,

Just want to make sure the apple guy did not rip me off. I was checking the Apple site and I saw that you save $200 for MBPs. I bought a MPB 13 2.4 and even with the back to school promotion, the discount was only $100. I just want to confirm if that is the right discount or if the apple guy didn't know what he was doing. Thanks :)

That's the right discount on that model. Only the 15" i7 and the 17" have a $200 discount.

That's correct.

I got my 13" MBP for the Edu discount price PLUS a free 8GB iPod Touch (mail-in rebate). Then I sold the iPod. So, I ended up with the $100 I saved on the MBP and $200 for the iPod. $300 savings win. :p

(Just be sure to keep the UPC tab from the iPod Touch box for the rebate! :p)

For me the educational discount goes up the more expensive it is.

You can save a couple of thousand dollars on a tricked out Mac Pro

Yeah the base 15" and 17" are $200 off, then upgrades like RAM, HDD, software, antiglare screen all have a small discount on them.

For the iPod Touch you don't have to do a "mail-in-rebate". You can just punch in the info online and do the rebate online. They will review it and send a check home or do a direct deposit.

Don't forget the $100 off printer rebate as well. If you already have a printer, get one thats around 100 bucks so it becomes free after rebate, and then sell it for some extra savings.
