I did a search and apparently. Everyones got their intel harddisk working fine with the 1.7 mac firmware for mbp.

I flashed the EFI firmware using the SSD and apparently I was never bought to the OK screen.

My screen just stayed white. Right after it flashed.
I wanted to to reflash my firmware back to the original file through apple's guide.

But I can't find the .dmg file as described by the apple article.

Furthermore I'm unable to find the restoration download on apple's site.

I read through the entire thread with regards to the 1.7 firmware update issue and apparently everyone with intel hdds had no issue with detection etc.

I swapped out the SSD and replaced it with the HDD and guess what it booted!

Any ideas? Did my EFI firmware update failed?

Thanks very much.

Yeah, I know, but that's the only one I could find too. Good luck and let us know if it works out! :)

My issues started after I updated the firmware from the Software Update. Prior to this, my computer was running perfectly. Everything was snappy, fast, and perfect. I then installed the Apple update and my computer would no longer even boot. I booted into the OS recovery CD, and the computer no longer recognized my x25-M.

Oh so I'm not the only one! Glad to hear.

Prove that I'm not him even though I'm known as Andrew as well.
He installed it within 3 hours.
For me.

Thank you!
Great news for me... lol

Intel updated the firmware due to performance issues before, looks like they have to do it again.

Apple has in the past pointed the finger at the 3rd party companies, however lately they have been doing the fixes under the table.
