...and available from Software Update! Yippie!

Probably for 15" too.

I just installed this update successfully on my mid-2010 15" MacBook Pro. Thank you OP.

I tried updating my 2010 15" Macbook pro 2.53 i5 today. It kept going through like it was going to update but it wouldn't actually update. I tried downloading the update manually from apple support also with no luck. Does anyone know how to get this installed?

UPDATE: Nvm, its because i didn't have my Macbook Pro plugged in

"Would I be any better off installing this while using Snow Leopard?"

I have an "early 2010" MacBook Pro 13". It's currently running 10.6.8.

I downloaded the just-released firmware update, tried to install it.

When double-clicked, the installer pkg file throws up the following error alert:
"This software is not supported on your system"

Well…. I have the very "system" it's intended for, that being an "early 2010" MacBook Pro!

Having said that, perhaps the firmware update will only run under Lion….
