Good news for anyone who has been looking for a external gpu for their macs. As long as your mac has thunderbolt 2 or USB C, this will work for you. Right now the eGPU, "bull.box", is on kickstarter. I saw this earlier. Seems like a good idea, but what I would ideally love is the chassis to allow you to swap out whichever supported graphics card you like, essentially allowing you to only need to upgrade the card in the future and not the whole box. Obviously, there would have to be a community to discuss supported graphics cards, much like the hackintosh community. But, i know that this is unlikely to ever happen due to many reasons. Heh, I can dream 
I contacted them and asked if we can upgrade the card and here's what they replied

- only bull.box 1.2 with thunderbolt 2.
- radiator need to fit.
- and you have to take off front of your card (this metal part where you have a ports)
All cards with PCI 3.0 and condition above - should fit (even Radeon).
