ehd crashed. how do i copy itunes library from ehd back up

Hi,

my ehd crashed (the one that I was using for my Itunes library)

fortunately, I did a CCC to a separate EHD last summer so I have most of the music.

I know how to do CCC and I know how to MOVE my itunes folder and consolidate.

But now, what I want to do is COPY my itunes library from my current bootable EHD (from the CCC) and move it back to my main HD. But I do not want to "move the library" and consolidate. I want to keep a back up on the EHD in case this happens again...

Can you please post a link? or explain how to do it?

1) Quit iTunes.

2) Click and drag the iTunes Music folder on your external hard drive into the /Users/yourname/Music folder on your internal hard drive.

3) Start iTunes.

can I use phoneView to capture MP3's that would already be tagged by itunes from the iphone and bring it back to my computer and put it in my music folder? and not have to retag everything??

is all the tagging information stored on the itunes music files?

or in a different location?

I think i'll drag and drop first and then use PhoneView to recover any others I have on my Iphone that weren't in the last back up.
