I want to get an EHD for Time Capsule. I want to use it for both my iMac and my MacBook Pro. I was thinking of getting this and putting in 2 1TB WD drives in RAID 1 and connecting it to my iMac thru firewire.

Is that a good plan? Do I need to have separate partitions for both to use it for Time Capsule or can they both back up to the same partition?
I already own one, but with smaller drives, and use it for a scratch disk for my FCE. I plan on moving this one to my Airport Extreme thru USB and still using it for the scratch disk for FCE on my iMac, scratch disk for PSE on my MacBook Pro, and also to store some common documents to both the iMac and MacBook Pro. Any problems with that plan? I wasn't sure if the USB thru the Airport Extreme would be fast enough for the scratch disks.
