Hey there,
Just recently, our media crew set up a Mac Mini in our store with an array of five external firewire DVD burners for the purposes of copying our Sunday morning sermons and producing the occasional DVD for special programs our church does.

As it is now, you press the eject button on the drive to make the tray come out. But, when a CD or DVD is in the drive, you have to eject it from the Finder. Now, when this array is hooked up to my laptop, which is running Windows Vista, it will come out when I press the button.

So, I could use the finder, but I really miss having complete control over one individual drive. If a blank CD is in there and you need it to come out, you have to figure out which one it is in NTI DragonBurn and eject it that way. Very annoying!

Any ideas as to how I can always eject using the button on the unit itself??

This is the one major pet peeve I have with Macs.

Macs have been like that for as long as I remember.

I guess in a pinch, you could use a paperclip and the emergency eject hole, but I'm not sure if that would cause any damage over time
