El Cap download slow?

I don't know if this is a macOS Sierra issue. Both my Macs are on Sierra. I realized I never created a boot installer for El Cap so I started downloading it.

Both Macs are saying it will take about 24 hours to download it. This is from either wifi and ethernet, and two separate networks (work and home).

I've just tried downloading El Cap (I'm on El Cap rather than Sierra) from the App Store at work. 100/100 connection.

It was just whirrling for 15 minutes and not even downloading. Might be an issue with Apple's servers.
