So long story short, i have a Macbook 3,1 and when its SSD failed i was given a Macbook Pro 5,5
I installed Mavericks, then did the upgrade to El cap. Now that my SSD is back i wanted to install el cap fresh on it. I used Disk Maker X like always to make the EL Cap flash drive.
Now here is where i get pissed off. At first the mac wouldnt see the flash drive. SO i re did it. It installed, then restarted then the mac flashed its folder icon. So plugged the HDD back in and make the usb image again using the command line in terminal instead of disk maker X. Same issue, it finds the flash drive after a bit, installs it then reboots and nothing. When i booted back up in the hard drive a third time i checked the root SSD and found only this folder. (attach)
Then i poped in my Mavericks USB key and it installed just fine and booted on the SSD. But not TRIM under SSD settings. ID rather a clean install of El cap. Any ideas what the heck is going on?
I left the machine last night to redownload yosemitte and EL cap.
