As the tittle says i think El Capitan have a bug when trying to resize a hard drive, i don't know if anyone else has encountered this problem, i've tried to expand my external hard drive as usual with disk utility by draging the primary partition and erasing the free space on the grafic, (disk utility changed a little bit) i've managed to expand (return my hard drive to the original size) 2 TB
but disk utility has formated the whole partition, i wrote this as a warning for users to prevent data loss, and if anyone could help me to solve my problem i will be very thankful
